On December 5-9, 2022, the thirdin a series of international workshops entitled „Characterization of biomaterials – biological assessment” took place. The workshop was organized by the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. The workshop was attended by scientists from the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Precision Mechanics, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sheffield, the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon and the Cluster of Excellence MERGE at the University of Technology in Chemnitz.

During the workshop, Doctor Joanna Idaszek presented innovative methods used in the biological assessment of implant materials. As part of the workshop, competences were passed on the analysis of the results of cytotoxicity, adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of cells and their imaging by fluorescence, confocal and electron microscopy. In addition, the participants visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology.

These were the third workshops organized under the project: “Integrated research and teaching system for the implementation of additive technologies” financed by the Strategic Partnerships program by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
