Second workshop „Characterization of biomaterials – destructive and non-destructive methods, assessment of physicochemical properties”

On November 14-18, 2022, the second in a series of international workshops entitled „Characterization of biomaterials – destructive and non-destructive methods, assessment of physicochemical properties” took place. The workshop was organized by the Cluster of Excellence MERGE at the University of Technology in Chemnitz. The workshop was attended by scientists from the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Precision Mechanics and the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology.

During the workshop, Professor Lothar Kroll and Doctor Isabelle Roth-Panke presented innovative methods used in materials research. The participants visited the laboratories of the MERGE Technology Center and the Fraunhofer Institute. In addition, we pre-selected materials for biomimetic endoprosthesis. We plan to used it in the next stage of the project. Examples of such methods and equipment used in the project are: AFM, TGA, DSC, DMA, GPC, FTIR, Raman, SEM, TEM, DIC.

These were the second workshops organized under the project: “Integrated research and teaching system for the implementation of additive technologies” financed under the Strategic Partnerships program by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
